Thanksgiving. Gratitude. Appreciation. A spirit of thanksgiving is the telltale sign of a joyful Christian! It is a distinguishing characteristic, just like fine bubbles are a mark of good champagne!
Psalm 147:7 says “sing to the Lord with thanksgiving,” and Ephesians 5:20 tells us to “give thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Giving thanks is so important to the Lord that it is mentioned 73 times in the King James Bible. It takes away bitterness. Removes envy. Silences gossip. And brings peace! No wonder our Father thought it so important!
Here at International Cooperating Ministries, we have so much to be thankful for. God is doing great things! We have church projects in 82 countries around the world. There are now more than 6,000 church projects built or under construction. This very week, building projects were approved in Togo, Guatemala and India. We have a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator—one of the highest awards a charity can receive.
Hallelujah! Thank you, Lord! I could write a list as long as my arm on all the things we have to be thankful for, and perhaps I should! We are thankful for the wonderful people God has drawn to ICM, from the staff, to the donors, to the partners and pastors. We are thankful that the Father protects our field officers as they travel—every single time!
At the top of that list, we are thankful for you, that you take the time to regularly pray for us! Thank you!
This month, let’s take some time to be thankful in everything—to begin to cultivate a life of gratitude and praise to our Savior, the One who continually blesses us, loves us, protects us and cares for us!
With so much gratitude,
